Solutions/IT audits

IT audit: what you have, what it costs and what can break.

We review your company's entire IT: servers and cloud, delivery processes, security configuration, backups, licences and costs. You get a report with a list of things to do, ordered by importance, with effort estimates and sequence.

What is an IT audit?

An IT audit is an independent review of a company's entire IT: servers and cloud, delivery processes, security configuration, backups, licences and costs. It ends with a report and a to-do list ordered by importance, with effort estimates and sequence. It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks and requires no changes to running systems.

Why it matters

Why it's worth checking before it breaks

Most companies order an IT audit only once something already hurts: costs rise without a clear reason, failures repeat, or infrastructure needs to be taken over from someone who just left. It can be done earlier, but few treat it as a priority on its own.

The trouble is that the cost of fixing a problem grows with how long it stays unnoticed. A server that's been oversized for years is a cost that keeps compounding every month. A backup that was never tested is a risk that only shows itself when you actually need it, which is the worst possible moment.

An audit isn't a punishment or a judgment of the IT team's work. It's an outside view of what works, what's accidental, and what needs a decision. We work with read-only access, talk to people, and leave behind a to-do list ordered by what actually affects risk and cost, not by what's easiest to describe.

Scope

What the module covers

Infrastructure & architecture

Servers, network, cloud and environments. We check what is oversized, what is a single point of failure and what has no owner.

Costs & licences

Resource usage, vendor contracts, licences and subscriptions. We show where you overpay and what nobody uses anymore.

DevOps & CI/CD processes

How a code change reaches production. We look for bottlenecks, manual work, missing tests and the places where deployments break.

Backups & business continuity

Whether backups are complete, tested and restorable in reasonable time. What happens when a key server goes down.

Configuration & access security

Accounts, permissions, patching, network segmentation. Basic hygiene. Full penetration testing is a separate service, our Security module.

Documentation & procedures

Whether knowledge about systems exists outside people's heads: restore instructions, emergency procedures, ticket and change handling.

Process

How the engagement works

1

Kickoff

We agree on scope (entire IT or selected areas), access and what matters most to the business. One meeting.

2

Analysis

We review environments, documents and contracts and talk to the team. No interruption to work.

3

Report

Findings and recommendations with priorities, effort estimates and rollout order.

4

Walkthrough

We go through the report with your team and management and agree on the first step.

Outcome

What you get

This is what you get at the end. You can work with it from the next day, on your own or with us.

Audit report (PDF) with an executive summary
Recommendations ordered by importance
Step-by-step rollout plan
Effort and cost estimates
Risk map and a list of quick fixes
Inventory of systems, licences and contracts
Backup and continuity assessment
A meeting where we go through the report with your team and management
Who it is for

This module makes sense if…

You want an independent assessment of your entire IT. Costs grow faster than the company. You are taking over infrastructure from a previous vendor or employee. Or you are planning a bigger change, such as a migration or scaling, and want to know where you stand first.

Results

What changes

1 report

A to-do list with priorities, effort estimates and sequence. Readable for the board as well.

Quick fixes

A separate list of improvements you can make right away, with no budget.

0 downtime

Read-only access and conversations with the team. We change nothing in your systems.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does an audit take?

It depends on the size of the environment and the scope. Usually 2 to 4 weeks from the first meeting to the report walkthrough. An audit of a single area, such as costs and licences, takes less.

Will the audit get in the team's way?

No. We use read-only access and talk to people. We change nothing in your environments.

How is an IT audit different from a security audit?

An IT audit covers the whole: architecture, costs, processes, continuity and basic security hygiene. Penetration testing and an in-depth security audit are a separate service. You can order both together.

Do we have to implement the recommendations with you afterwards?

No. We write the report so that your team or current vendor can handle it on their own. We can help if you want us to.

Does the audit also cover integrations between systems?

We check whether today's integrations are correct and secure. Designing and building them is a separate service: Systems Integration & Deployment.
